So, I love this drawing. And I’m bored. So I wrote a short thing based on it. Enjoy!
            Eddward dragged a hand across his face, taking deep, shuddering breaths. His other hand was braced against a locker, barely holding him up as sobs ripped through his body. He felt a headache developing. He moved his hand up to his temple and rubbed, trying to rub the thoughts from his head as well as the dull pain. He’d only meant to sit and brood for a while, perhaps shed a tear or two, but once he’d started it was impossible to stop. Everything he had been holding inside was screaming for release, cruelly demanding his attention. He tried to hold back a fresh wave of cries, but they would not be restrained. He stumbled as they tore loose, falling hard onto his tailbone. He leaned back against the cool metal, banging his head on the wall, softly at first and then harder.
            “Fuck,” he whispered. Pain shot through his head just behind his eyes.
            “FUCK!”

            Kevin shut his locker door softly, glancing down at his watch. It was nearly lunch time and not once had Eddward harassed him. He ought to be happy about it; any length of time when he wasn’t being punched or hit on by that bully should be cherished. Of course, Kevin was glad for the reprieve, but… He fidgeted with the hem of his shirt, stalling. He already knew what he was going to do. He just didn’t want to do it. The bell rang, announcing the lunch hour.
            “Damn it all to hell,” he muttered. He slid into the stream of students milling through the hall, following the traffic until he reached the cafeteria. There he moved away and continued down the hall, pushing the double doors at the end open with his back. He walked quickly across the grounds, arriving at the gymnasium within minutes. As he put his hand to the door, he heard a loud swear echo through the building. He sighed.
            I can still walk away…
            Shaking his head, he pressed forward, careful to catch the door before it slammed behind him. Taking deliberately slow steps, he moved silently toward the source of the noise, opening the door to the men’s locker room. He was met by the sound of soft sobbing. Stunned, he stood in the doorway for a moment. Is he…crying? He cleared his throat gently.
            “Uh…Eddward?” he called out.
            There was a beat of silence, and then, “What the hell do you want?”
            Eddward’s voice was rough from crying. Kevin moved down the edge of the room, peering into each aisle for Eddward. He found him at the very end, curled up in the corner, wiping his nose with the back of his hand. He glanced up and back down, refusing to make eye contact. Kevin took a few hesitant steps forward.
            “Edd—”
            “I said, what the hell do you want?”
            “I just…wanted to check on you.”
            Eddward scoffed. “And what gives you the impression that I am in need of your care?”
            Kevin shrugged. “I don’t know. You haven’t punched me all day. I figured something must be wrong.”
            Eddward gave him a funny look and a half chuckle before breaking down in tears. He leaned his head back and let them flow, tired of trying to fight it. Kevin closed the gap between them and knelt, gazing at Eddward’s face and feeling nothing but genuine concern. He reached out a hand and set it on his cheek. Eddward leaned into the touch, releasing a shuddering sigh.
            “Shh…” Kevin whispered. “I’m here.”
            His hand slid under Eddward’s chin, gently lifting so he could press a kiss onto those soft lips.
            “I’m here.”
